What is GSM, and why is it important?

GSM is a fancy word we use in the fashion industry to explain the density of the fabric and is a term used quite often for describing Cotton T-Shirts. GSM is short for "grams per square metre" and is one vital measurement to consider when purchasing your Cotton T-Shirts online.

Basically, the higher the GSM, the denser the fabric, whereas the lower the GSM, the more delicate the fabric becomes. While denser, hard-wearing material last longer, it isn't suited for everything. Can you imagine wearing a Cotton T-Shirt on a hot Australian Summer Day that has the same density as a Premium Cotton Towel? No thanks!

While there are other manufacturing factors to consider, like yarn, singles and stitch technique. Here is our quick reference guide to assist our customers in purchasing any of our Premium Cotton T-Shirts.
